NPFL: I will overhaul Enyimba’s attack – Eguma
Newly appointed Enyimba head coach, Emmanuel Amuneke, has said it is important for him to overhaul the team’s attack.
The People’s Elephant were held to a 0-0 draw by Bendel Insurance in a Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) matchday 19 fixture in Aba on Tuesday.
Enyimba dominated the game but were let down by their poor finishing.
The Aba giants are now winless in their last 10 games across all competitions.
Amuneke, who took charge of the two-time African champions from Yemi Olanrewaju last week, said it is important for him to overhaul the team’s attack.
“I’ve only been with the club for about 48 hours, and from what I’ve observed, it’s clear the attack is the biggest headache and problem of the team,” Amuneke stated.
“Thankfully, this is the last match of the first round. We’ll have to utilize the transfer window to bring in quality and clinical finishers to strengthen the attack.
“The team plays as a unit, but they need better tactical attacking qualities to ensure we score goals consistently. Without goals, you can’t win games. This principle will also apply to other areas where we are lacking.”
