NPFL: Amuneke happy with Heartland’s display in first stanza
Heartland technical adviser, Emmanuel Amuneke has commended his youthful squad for their bravery in the first stanza of the Nigeria Premier Football League(NPFL).
The Naze Millionaires ended the first half of the season in 14th position with 22 points from 19 games.
Amuneke has reiterated the club’s desire to give the young players chance to grow with the team.
“I’m proud of the young squad I have paraded in the first half of the season,” Amuneke told Heartland’s media.
“As you all know I myself am a product of the same system, after I left secondary school I was giving an opportunity at Julius Berger which has made me who I am today, I think the Nigeria culture we want it to be big immediate and good result.
“We at Heartland are focused on developing our players to grow, for instance the former African Player of the Year was a product of myself and Emeka Amadi in the U-17, within five years he was one of the best players.
“I think I find it necessary that we make a place where we continue to encourage our young players because it’s through those channels that they go through that will make them mature and be much better player.”
